Hello!
No September post, so this one covers two months. A lot of the work in that stretch has been even more groundwork for what's coming, with a few things you can use today.
Annual Plans
You can now pay for a year up front and get two months free, which works out to roughly 17% off. On Standard, that brings a 3 hour session down to $1.80 for a Brief analysis and $3.00 for a Comprehensive one. You'll still get the credit drops monthly, not the whole year up front. Pick the Yearly tab on the pricing page or switch any time from Account Settings.
GMA Updates
- Analysis tweaks - Constant, ongoing adjustments to how sessions are analyzed. Your feedback on individual analyses has been extremely helpful here. It tells us which changes actually produce better notes and recaps and which ones to roll back, so keep it coming.
- UI refresh - Parts of the app have been redesigned, and there is more of that on the way as we make room for new features. If something moved on you, that's why.
- Default session names - New sessions are numbered for you ("Session #12") unless you type a name, so you can skip that step when you are in a hurry. Also, don't forget that after an analysis, there are suggested titles when you edit a session.
- Smart Edit checks for fresh data first - Smart Edit now reloads the session before it suggests changes and tells you if a suggestion went stale because something changed in between. This happened when folks were trying to edit in multiple tabs at once.
- Multi-track speaker labels use player names - If you upload one track per person, transcript lines are now labeled with the player's name instead of their character's, which reads better when someone runs more than one character.
- Campaign export lists who plays whom - Player character entries in the campaign download now include the player's name.
- Infrastructure upgrades - The home lab that does the heavy lifting got some new hardware: better networking gear and a third GPU machine for processing. More headroom means more sessions processing at once and less waiting when a bunch of you upload on the same Sunday night. I still need to go up on the roof and clean the solar panels.
- Small fixes - Duplicate and unreadable audio uploads are caught up front with a clear message, and deleting a session cancels any processing still running on it.
What's Next?
Single-mic speaker labels - In Alpha testing now. Tell us who was at the table and we'll use that to identify speakers and improve the analysis. Still no dates, it needs to be right before it goes to everyone.
Soaking in Alpha - A few other things have been sitting with our Alpha testers for a while too. They will show up here once they have earned it.
