Hello Folks!
GM Assistant is almost 2 years old! I figured I’d give more of a “Founder Update” for this month with a slight peak behind the scenes. I’ll do my best not to overshare or be too unprofessional :P
Since we launched GMA, I've been focused on it full-time, mostly solo, but I do have some part-time help (Thanks Andrei, Courtney, and my wife). However, over the past 6 months or so, I've had a series of life events in rapid succession which really got in the way. This required me to put the business in a little bit of a "maintenance mode" at the time.
I'm glad to report that development has revved back up to full throttle. I'm really excited about what we have planned, the various user surveys and voluntary feedback you all have participated in has been extremely informative. I hope GMA can directly address many more of your Game Mastering pain points soon.
The Values We Stand Behind
I'll just reemphasis that we plan to stand by our core values. Some dude once said, "The best way to make money is to create more value than you capture" There is more than one definition of success and profit isn't the only metric a business should consider.
I'll take a minute and toot my own horn, maybe even a little virtue signaling. Somehow, unlike a number of emerging TTRPG apps, we have gotten by without AI generated blog posts, no AI slop marketing materials, and no astroturfing on Reddit (did you know that I can see you?).
We've also mostly survived having comments open on our ads. Thanks so much for those of you that leave helpful comments and answer other peoples questions. You guys have no idea how much that helps us out.

What I'm trying to say is what makes me happiest is having users tell me how the app helps them and the moments of joy you all share in Discord. These all signal to me that my hard work is providing real value to folks.
As For Development Updates...
- "Sharable moments" - quick share button for memorable moments for quick sharing to your players or community. Consider sharing to our #memorable-moments channel in Discord.
- Dashboard Improvements - Campaign archiving, sorting/filtering, etc
- New FAQ and Troubleshooting pages.

Developer API - coming soon
We are nearly done with all the behind the scenes changes and will be launching the API to the Alpha testers in the coming week.
Many of you have expressed interest in writing your own tools that interact with GMA. Email alpha@gmassistant.app if you have plans for something specific and would like early access. It may also be good for some of you to make your plans known so we dont end up with 10 different community written Discord bots, unless you wanna compete with each other :) We do not plan to keep it in Alpha for very long if you rather wait for the stable v1.0.
